From studio intern to first assistant to photographer, few people have climbed the ranks of TPS as fast as Liam. He may still be the baby of the studio but Liam has a passion and determination for photography beyond his years. His work is imaginative and contemporary and it’s catching the eye of more than just our gang. This is one cool cat that we are all keeping an eye on!

Who is your biggest inspiration?

Hmm, I’d have to say Johnny Depp. He’s just a pretty cool dude and everything about him is awesome. He owns his very own private island, he has the coolest style and he never really gets in too much trouble. Well, apart from when he brought his dogs to Australia ha!

What were the last three songs you listened to?

1) Blink 182 – Anthem part 2
2) Kanye West – Famous
3) Gorgon City – No More

What would you do if you had a billion dollars?

I would buy three apartments; one in New York, the second in Tokyo and the last in London. Then I’d build my own photography studio in each city and share my work and living between the three.

Then I’d save a stack of the money so I could privately educate my future children. I’d donate 5 million dollars to HeadSpace for helping kids with depression as well as 5 million dollars to the teddy bear appeal which is a charity for Westmead Hospital where I had my heart surgery as a baby.

The rest of it I’d have in my back pocket so I could splurge it travelling around the world.

What is number 1 on your bucket list?

Snowboarding in Japan.

Give us your best pickup line

I definitely don’t use pickup lines! But I had a little brain storm and if I did it’d have to be… “Do you like chocolate? Perfect, Max Brenner is down the road.”

Where would we find you on your day off?

Snuggled up in bed, editing photos and watching my Japanese animation shows because I’m a self confessed nerd.

If you could go back in time, what era would you go to and why?

Definitely the late 1970’s. That was when Punk Rock was born in NYC so I’d spend my nights seeing all the punk rock bands perform. I basically dress for the 70’s already because I’m always in punk ripped jeans and leather jackets so I think I’d fit right in.

What inspired you to become a photographer?

I was given a film camera in high school but that was just the beginning. What actually inspired me was when I was working in retail for Cotton On. I saw their advertising campaign and loved it so much I went home and did my research. I realised I wanted to become a photographer and create my own exciting campaigns. I followed through with my ambition and finally ended up as a photographer at The Photo Studio!
