The stunning and edgy Benita gave our Melbourne studio a taste of Gothic beauty in her deliciously dark shoot.
Likely the coolest 17-year-old we’ve ever met, Benita describes her style as being “otherworldly and vaguely threatening”. Hoping to someday make her mark in the world of fashion design and alternative modelling, Benita wanted to put together a modelling portfolio, and we were so lucky to help her out!
Benita says her looks for the shoot were Gothic Lolita, punk, and psychobilly inspired. Her makeup was relatively pared back: winged eyeliner and a nude lip in most shots, though the nude lipstick got swapped out for an awesome green hue halfway through the shoot. Her hair was curled loosely, creating a gorgeous whimsical look. But the real eye-catchers of the shoot were Benita’s outfits. Her first look consisted of a black tulle skirt, a black corset over a black blouse adorned with a white skull-and-crossbones pattern, fishnet tights and black combat boots. Her second look was a more casual one made up of a slouchy, hunter green knit sweater over fishnet tights and combat boots. For her final look, she wore black skinny jeans, black heeled boots, a black and white blouse with a white Peter Pan collar, a black studded choker necklace, and a black knit cardigan. All three of her looks were amazing and showcased Benita’s deeply cool style and personality.
Benita’s shoot was unlike any other; the photos show off her eye for punk style, but still let her natural beauty work its magic. We were so happy to help her vision come to life!
