Tips to Make Your Skin Glow on Camera

We all know the power of makeup and photoshop to soften those bags and hide that ill-timed pimple. But when it comes to your photo shoot debut, confidence is everything. That’s why there’s no match for naturally glowing, head turning skin.

Here are our top tips to for photo shoot ready skin…

Binge Drink (Water)

It won’t be the first time you’ve been on aqua alert. The first step to healthier looking skin is still the good old favourite H2O!

Very much the Queen of beauty products, drinking at least 2 litres of water a day in the lead up to your photo shoot will re-hydrate your skin, giving it a smoother texture and the perfect pre-shoot boost.

Beauty Sleep

Now I know this is a lot to ask… But get that circadian rhythm in check! Sleep will not only turn those under eye suitcases into manageable little carry-ons, but your skin will look fresher and you will feel less sluggish during your photo shoot.

Detox

Our skin shows what is going on inside, so in the lead up to your photo shoot give your body a healthy break.

Trust me, you will see the results in your skin from head to toe! It will feel smoother, look fresher and be full of nutrients.

Use Coconut Oil

Aren’t coconuts just the most versatile gift of nature? Whether you’re cooking with it, using it as a hair mask or lathering it on your skin – it’s guaranteed to make you look and feel healthier.

For extra effect, drink coconut water too! Perfect for those post-Prosecco hangovers… Oops!

Wax or Shave

Waxing of any body hair should be done 2-3 days prior to your shoot in order for any redness or swelling to settle down.

Aloe Vera gel is excellent for soothing sore skin.

Shaving can be done on the day of your shoot but just take extra care and moisturize…And don’t forget the underarms!

Exfoliate

Before your shoot be sure to treat your body to a natural exfoliation.

Chances are you have all the ingredients for a DIY body scrub laying around your home.

Just mix sugar, baby oil (or essential oil if you want to smell amazing) and then apply it with your hands or an exfoliating mitt before bathing.

Remember to pay close attention to those tougher areas like knees, elbows, heels and soles.

Eat Garlic

Okay, so I know what you’re thinking… Garlic? Everyday? What about my breath?!

A Danish study showed that eating garlic daily extends the lifespan of your cells which leads to healthier, more youthful skin.

Sweat It Out

Get that body moving. Whatever form of exercise you prefer, sweating it out releases happy toxins and stimulates blood flow.

That not only puts a MASSIVE smile on your face, it also makes your skin glowing and ready for the camera.
