What inspired you to come in and do a photo shoot with us?
Earlier this year, I went to the Sydney Easter Show and there was a booth set up for The Photo Studio! I had one photo taken and loved how it turned out!
You’re an incredible dancer, how did you get into dancing?
My mum put me into ballet when I was 3 years old, I fell in love with it very quickly and started picking up different classes to incorporate many more dance styles like contemporary and jazz.
What is your favourite style of dance?
My favourite style of dance is contemporary ballet. I absolutely love how it is a twist on traditional ballet.
What do you see yourself doing in 10 years from now?
I am currently at Uni studying Law and Journalism, so in 10 years time I hope I am Justin Bieber’s lawyer! That seems a little unachievable, so in 10 years time – wherever life takes me, I wish to be happy doing something I am passionate about and making a change.
Your instagram is so inspiring for dancers – do you feel Instagram is a useful platform to send positive messages to others?
Although I love to dance, i also know both the physical and mental toll it can have on our health. Dancers want to be ‘perfect’, and unfortunately with dance, there is a stereotype that a ‘perfect’ dancer consists of being thin, having long legs and extreme flexibility. On my instagram I want to break this stereotype and I work hard to promote a healthy body image and sending out the message that anyone can be a dancer and excel at it no matter their body type. If Instagram is used in the right way, it is an extraordinary platform to raise awareness for serious issues, especially in the dance community.
If you could wake up in the body of someone else tomorrow, who would it be and why?
Shay Mitchell from Pretty Little Liars, she gives off such a positive vibe, she seems like such a fun person who is free-spirited. Not to mention, her outfits are always on fleek!
