Featured Portfolio | Prosper Gozho

Prosper is an 18-year-old Zimbabwean, having lived there for 7 years before moving to Melbourne. His unique style evolved from the way his parents raised him. His parents never bought him expensive things, and this fuelled him to pursue his own original style. Prior to this shoot, he had no previous modelling experience.

Prosper aspires to be a fashion designer and model in the future because he ‘would love to create stuff for people that has never been made which stands out from the rest’. His style inspirations include Kanye West, Jaden Smith, Virgil Abloh and Willow Smith. He loves their crazy style, but more importantly that they push the limits with their fashion, wearing styles that have never been seen.

Prosper explains that he likes to change up the clothing he wears. He goes from ‘button up shirts and chinos, to oversized and bright colours’. This is reflected in the styling for his shoot.

Prosper’s shoot had 2 key looks. Both looks combined streetwear with high end items to create a bold statement. The first look was Urban, featuring shades of grey, black and white. He paired denim jeans with a grey hoodie, white sneakers and a black bomber jacket. Prosper also wore a white, oversized t-shirt in this look. We love how this t-shirt was ripped, as this created an extra layer of texture and was edgier than the typical white t-shirt. The second look was Lux Streetwear. Prosper paired stone wash jeans with an oversized bright yellow long sleeve shirt, which made this look really pop on camera. He also wore Nike sneakers with a red stripe which he had graffitied. This personal touch from Prosper really brought this second look together and made it contemporary.

The accessories in this shoot add an extra dimension to the photos. Prosper wears a black watch, a Gucci satchel, gold rings and a duffel bag to elevate his looks. In some photos he uses these accessories as props, playfully biting his ring or carrying his bag.

We are sure that this is not the last we have seen of Prosper! His passion for the fashion industry and modelling talent puts him in good stead for a future career as a model and fashion designer. We can’t wait to see what he does next.
