Featured Portfolio | Patricia and Gavin Frasser

Patricia and Gavin’s photo shoot radiates the love and care they have for each other. Through the luck of the universe they met each other and fell in love. They used this photo shoot to capture their essence and life together in photographs.

Patricia grew up in a Latin family surrounded by love, music and good friends. Gavin grew up on the other side of the world, here in Australia. The couple almost didn’t meet. On the fateful day in Cartagena, Columbia a mutual friend introduced them – just 3 hours before Gavin had to catch a plane for his return trip back home to Australia! ‘How we fell in love we do not know!’, Patricia exclaims. Not only was a vast ocean separating them – so was a language barrier. ‘I couldn’t speak English and he couldn’t speak Spanish’, Patricia explains. Gavin didn’t let that stop him, asking Patricia for her phone number, ‘since that day we have not stopped talking’. After a year of emails, phone calls and travelling back and forth between Australia and Colombia, the couple decided to get married in 2001. If that love story is not deserving of a movie, we do not know what is!

The Frasser’s shoot had 2 key looks: casual and formal. For the casual look, the couple wanted to emulate their favourite thing to do together, being at home in bed, reading together with their dog, Pretty Girl, next to them. Patricia and Gavin brought Pretty Girl into their shoot, posing on a bed set-up in our studio, reading books side by side just like they do at home. The pair wore comfy blue denim jeans and white shirts to create a casual, effortless atmosphere in the photos. It was important for them to have Pretty Girl in the photos because as their ‘four-legged princess’ she is an important member of their family.

For their formal look, the couple replicated the pose of Gavin’s parents from an old photograph. Gavin sported a black tuxedo with a bow tie, accessorising his outfit with a watch. Patricia wore an elegant, strapless gown with applique flowers on the flowing tulle skirt. The Frasser’s posed on a brown leather couch, emulating the pose of Gavin’s parents in the old photograph, with Pretty Girl seated right next to them.

We love how each of the looks in the Frasser’s photo shoot was incredibly meaningful for them. We know that these photos are something they will cherish forever, because they represent their love and who they are together. We feel honoured to be able to share Patricia and Gavin’s love story and their beautiful couple’s portfolio of images with the world.
