Hairdresser Andrea Machado came into The Photo Studio Australia to create a series of photos that expressed who she is a person. By using different clothes, Andrea wanted to create a story – something she has always loved about photo shoots.

“I really enjoy the way a photo can tell a story and, most of all, what you can transform yourself into for a photo shoot, whether it’s a costume or nice dress.” Says Andrea.

“I would have to say I do enjoy a lot of different styles and I do like to mix it up, but at the moment my style would lean more towards glam and cute such as pleated mini skirts, crops, boot heals and jeans. Love a cute look!”

One of the styles Andrea adopted was a fitness shoot, combining a gritty background with playful garments to give off contrasting appeal.

“The fitness shoot was based around the fact that I had started a new chapter in life and that’s when I started to get more into fitness. I love the gel look that was done.”

“Keep fitness bright and colourful, more of an enjoyable thing rather than a gloomy chore.”

To change things up, Andrea also opted for a series of photos influenced by the 1950s. While tonally different from her fitness shots, she kept pink as the one constant.

“My favourite time period is the 50s’ – the polka dot dress with red lippy really made the look for me, and I enjoyed that one the most.”

A mainstay of Andrea’s outlook on life is self-love. She is hopeful those emotions will be unmistakable when people see the finished product from her time in the studio.

“I hope people gain confidence and positivity from my photos and that they feel happy when looking at my shoot. As a person, I like to bring confidence to others who have less. I strongly believe that loving yourself is the first most important step you can take to enjoying a fulfilled happy life.”
