Coordinating Outfits For a Couples Photo Shoot
A photo shoot can be the ultimate fun date for you and your partner.
Have a day of laughter, good times and some extra special bonding time as you get a complete makeover and spend some time posing in front of the camera. The hardest part of doing couples photography is knowing what to wear to compliment each other in a photograph. Here are some styling ideas so that you can get the most out of your couples photo shoot.

Colour Blocking
When coordinating your outfits, one of the most popular rules to abide by is the rule of colour. You don’t have to both be sporting identical red shirts, but having a colour that you pick out and accentuate can speak volumes in a photograph. If your man has a beautiful turquoise accent colour on his flannel shirt, then try to accentuate that colour on your own person. Whether that is an eye catching hair clip or a turquoise scarf, having these similarities will fair well in your photographs. If you don’t want to wear the same colour details, then try to find two colours that compliment each other beautifully.

Formal Wear
Are you and your other half always dressing up and feeling glam? Or perhaps you’d love to wear something you’d never usually dare to wear. Bring in a posh frock and a tuxedo and prepare yourself for some Vanity Fair style dramatic shots that will leave you feeling like you’ve just hopped out of a James Bond movie! Accentuated makeup, bronzed skin and big bouncy curls will have you girls looking and feel the part!

Era
Styling yourselves into a certain era is one of our favourite ways to coordinate a couples photo shoot. Both have a love for the 60’s and want to recreate Danny and Sandy in cult film, Grease? Or how about going all Gatsby in a 1920’s inspired shoot? Whatever your style, you’ll need props and lavish accessories to tell the story in your photographs.

Memories
Are there any settings that remind you of your other half? That sailing trip around the Mediterranean or snuggling up in warm clothing on the ski slopes. Play with these theme ideas and think about the fun props and outfits that will recreate those memories. If you’re picking the nautical theme, perhaps you’d bring in some fun sailing props and some vintage sailing outfits. Remember you can suggest a theme through small accessories and wardrobe styling – you don’t need to hunt for an old boat to bring in!

Casual
Perhaps you want some photographs that truly show your fun, relaxed and casual side? If so, bring in your weekend attire of jeans and a t-shirt and have fun in the studio by focusing on the fun you have together in your photographs.

Bedroom
A couples photo shoot can be an intimate experience and the ultimate date. Want to have some professional photos of you at this moment in time, celebrating the way you both look and the confidence share? What better way than to recreate some tasteful bedroom shots that highlights your closeness and intimacy. Strip back to your undergarments or wear your boyfriend’s crisp white shirt and enjoy the experience together!
