Model Success Story | Catherina Doyle

At 59 years old, Catherina Doyle has reached an age of reflection. Asserting that she has so much to look back on and to look forward to, Catherina is eager to take on any new opportunities that come her way, which includes her shoot at The Photo Studio.

Her eagerness and positive attitude landed her a mature modelling contract, with Catherina recently being signed to modelling agency SilverFox MGMT.

She has clear goals for her modelling career, “to be a role model for any woman that is questioning her ability to pursue other paths as they mature. Anything is within reach and available to us, we just need to believe in ourselves”.

Before coming into the studio, Catherina stated that women above the age of 50 generally get classified as ‘old people’, but she doesn’t feel that way at all. She wanted to be uninhibited for her shoot, and show anyone of a mature age that they don’t need to rule out new experiences because of their age.

For her shoot, Catherina said that she wanted to capture herself in that moment forever. Wanting to showcase her natural beauty, she opted for light makeup, nude colours and a natural, elegant vibe to her photographs. Inspired by some of the looks from The Photo Studio’s online galleries, she wanted her photos to be timeless in keeping with her personality.

In terms of advice for newcomers to The Photo Studio, Catherine believes that the best approach is to “embrace your individuality, remove your inhibitions, trust your stylist and photographer but most of all be ready to have the best few hours of your life”.

“Always be yourself, but be open minded and accept advice and direction from your Agency. Maintaining a professional and respectful attitude because it’s the client you need to impress not yourself. Keep your ultimate goal in focus always”

Always trying to live her life to the fullest, Catherina has tried many different things throughout her life. She had a career in media for 25 years, after which she fell into yoga teaching. For the past 10 years Catherina has taught yoga six days a week, where she was able to travel the world, developing a love for great food and wine.

As of this month, she has started training to be part of Virgin Australia’s cabin crew. For now, modelling remains a side-hobby, but also a way for her to gain new and unique experiences. As she says, “nothing is impossible!”
