Styling for Curves

Well ladies, this ideal is paramount in a photo shoot too. Embracing your curves and accentuating them in a photo shoot will leave you feeling super body confident and looking fabulous! But knowing what to wear to enhance your figure can be a difficult task, so we’ve done the hard work for you!

Cinch in your empire line

The slimmest part of a women’s frame is known as ‘The Empire Line’. Located just under your bust, it’s the perfect place to cinch in to create that enviable hourglass figure. You can achieve this look with a waist belt or just simple tie of ribbon, very little effort with great results!

Body Suits

Whether you want to risk all in a leg baring body suit or a figure hugging all in one, we’re sure your curves will look fierce and fun. If you’ve got a bootylicious behind or a bulging bust, then your body suit can be used to enhance your assets. Think shape wear and body con to really flatter your figure. Body suits create a high fashion edge… next stop Vogue!

Flared Trousers

Psst… I’ll let you in to a secret! Flared trousers and bootleg jeans are great to elongate the leg and give the illusion of a slimmer thigh. The longer the flares, the longer your legs will look on camera! Make sure to wear heels to complete this look and give your legs the extra mile!

Creative Shapes

Get creative with the shapes you create with your styling choices. Consider your body shape by using clothing to emphasise your best assets. For example work a fitted body con skirt with a loose shirt, or alternatively a tight top with a high waist A-line skirt. Balancing proportions will not only flatter your curves but it will also elongate your shape.

Chunky Knitwear

If you want to give off bedroom vibes without actually peeling back the layers, then we suggest you throw on some chunky knitwear and play around with revealing your shoulder or the top of your thigh.

Lingerie / Boudoir

There’s nothing sexier than flaunting what your mama gave you in a boudoir shoot. We often find that women feel empowered and confident after stripping back to their favourite lacey underwear and rocking their curves. If you’re not confidant baring all, you could always throw on a silk wrap. The lustrous texture of silk adds a great textural dimension to a photo and will leave you feeling sexier than ever!

Vertical stripes

The one cardinal sin for a fuller figure is the horizontal stripe. Allow your figure to be elongated with vertical stripes. Remember, ultra thin stripes don’t work well in a photo shoot as the camera struggles to identifies the different lines, so try to stick to wider stripes where possible.

Corsets

Take some inspiration from the 16^th century and cinch in your waist with a tie up corset. You don’t have to take it to the same extreme as they did in the olden days, but you can create a killer Marilyn Monroe inspired figure with very little time spent watching your calories 😉

Flash your collar bones

One of the most appealing parts on a woman’s body that often gets overlooked is the collar bones. Revealing the neck and collar bone can be a great way to ooze sexiness and show a little skin without drawing any attention to your lumps and bumps. Achieve this look with chunky knitwear that you pull down one shoulder or wear a flattering Bardot top. Don’t forget jewellery can also draw attention to these areas. A carefully placed choker or necklace can lock eyes on to this part of your body.
