Valerie is a free spirit with an amazingly funky style. She lit up our studio with her bright, eclectic outfits. All of her photos make us smile!

Valerie has been interested in fashion her entire life. As a little girl, she designed clothes for her dolls and learned to use a sewing machine as soon as her feet could reach the pedal. Valerie has studied fashion and dressmaking, has trained under famed fashion consultant Doris Pooser, has worked as a style consultant, and has experience as a professional dressmaker. But the one thing she’d never been able to tick off her bucket list was showing off her own spunky style in front of the camera. We got the honour of capturing all her fabulous looks! Valerie gets her style inspo from Iris Apfel and pulls ideas from Pinterest; she describes her personal style as being stylish but still a little quirky.

Every one of Valerie’s looks for her shoot was fun, colourful, and chock-full of amazing statement jewellery. Her first look was bright pink trousers, a white dress shirt, and colourful heeled boots. She accessorised the look with a magenta beaded necklace, multicoloured bangles, oversized orange sunnies, and a woven fiddler cap. Valerie’s next look was made up of a sunshine-yellow mid-length skirt, a white tee with yellow decals, tons of rainbow jewellery, and a bright orange lip. Her third look saw the white tee swapped out for a bright orange tee, colourful heeled Mary Janes, and red tasseled earrings. Her wardrobe was the furthest thing from boring, and Valerie looked amazing in every single look!

Valerie’s wardrobe is full of bold, colourful pieces. She hopes to inspire other mature women and show them that they can still have fun and be stylish at an older age. Valerie is living proof of that!
