Our gal Lorelei is truly an inspiration to anyone who has suffered low self esteem or believed they weren’t able to achieve something. After discovering her passion for glamour modelling, she has now conquered her insecurities – potentially doing up to 6 glamour shoots in a day. In 5 years, whilst continuing to pursue glamour modelling, we hope to see her as a rockstar or a mermaid… whatever she prefers 😉

Had you ever done a photoshoot prior to your shoot at the Photo Studio?

I didn’t have much experience, but I had done 2 photoshoots prior. I did a few beauty pageants, 1 shoot with Jack Mannix for Sneaky magazine and a TFP shoot with Padre for his artwork. Both are very talented photographers and now good friends of mine. They really helped me start building up a portfolio.

How did you become inspired to get into modelling?

It was actually Jack,  my “Andy Warhol”, who encouraged me to start modelling. He approached me outside a cafe in Surry Hills and asked if I would be his muse for Sneaky Magazine. Apparently expecting me to tell him to contact my agency – I giggled and explained I didn’t model and had no agency. We became good friends straight away. I was really happy to work with him and “Precious Metals”.

How did you get signed into an agency?

I’ve been signed to a few different agencies now, but I’m currently enjoying working  freelance as I am able to choose the jobs I like. The Model Sauce and Beauty Gaze Promotions are helping me with advertising at the moment. It’s a difficult industry as you never know when you will get work, or what people are looking for. However, I’ve been lucky enough to work with photographers like Cover Girl Photography, J.J. Maher & Model Photographic to name a few. Also your lovely selves, The Photo Studio.

What would be your advice to someone who is trying to get into glamour modelling?

Just go for it. Enter as many competitions as you can, go to every casting, use platforms like social media to help and just get out there. A lot of things empower girls. And for me, it’s glamour modelling. I was always very shy and struggled with very low self esteem. So seeing the final images of me was kinda like “Is that really me?”. Glamour modelling has given me so much confidence, it’s a dream come true to get this far. Hopefully it’s something I can pursue it in the future.

So we hear you’re also launching a singing career, tell us all!

Yes! Finally! Music has always been a hobby of mine. I always liked playing with words, and rhymes, and stories. I can sit for hours sometimes writing and I won’t get bored. My Album #CandyRocks will be released ASAP. For now you can listen to my teasers & demos of songs like #RainingJellyfish, #SweetLittleBitch & #IWontBeAtTheParty on my Soundcloud Music Page – Soundcloud.com/LoreleiOfficial.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I wanna say I’ll be a rock star, that would be pretty awesome. Or a mermaid. Either one suits me fine 😉

What is the hardest lesson you had to learn in life?

The hardest lesson ive had to learn is that eating chocolate for dinner is frowned upon if you want to lead a healthy life.

Who is your biggest inspiration?

Musically, I love Rock n Roll. The Beatles songs are my fav. The Rolling Stones are my fav band live. I also love artists like The Runaways, Joan Jett & The Black Hearts, Elton John, David Bowie & Lou Reed’s ‘Transformer Album’. Very inspiring stuff.

Give us an insight into what happens during a day in the life of a glamour model

Sometimes up to 6 shoots in a day. Sometimes absolutely nothing. You never really know what’s around the corner, but I think that’s why I like it so much.
