Ryan is a carpenter from Sydney, featuring in our Australia’s Hottest Tradie 2018 Ad campaign. Carpentry runs in his family, he started his apprenticeship when he was 16 years old with his father and older brother. He hopes to pass the trade on to his kids one day. He explains, ‘my favourite part about carpentry is that it is a very physical job. It always keeps me fit and healthy and gets me outside.’
A normal day for Ryan starts at 5am. He is on the job at 6:30 and usually home from a day’s carpentry work and at the gym by 5:30pm. At the moment he is working as a carpenter full time, doing small modelling jobs on the side.
Ryan had very little modelling experience before his shoot with us at our Melbourne studio and felt nervous going in but ended up having so much fun. He describes how he left the studio ‘feeling confident that the team would do an amazing job with what we shot’. He even made some new friends on his shoot, raving about how welcoming, accommodating and helpful the whole Photo Studio team was.
The worlds of modelling and carpentry are complete opposites, and Ryan finds it funny when his two worlds collide. He says, ‘I’ve been to a few modelling jobs straight after work and my hands are filthy, there is sawdust in my hair. It’s not what the hair and makeup department love to see, but I find it very funny!’
For tradies experiencing their first photo shoot, Ryan explained that feeling nervous before your shoot is perfectly normal. He felt nervous before his shoot with us and look how amazing his photos turned out! The most important thing though is to let go of your nerves and give it a shot. As Ryan says, ‘try it out, you have nothing to lose and so much to gain!’ We are looking forward to having Ryan back in our studio soon and have loved having him as one of the faces of our Australia’s Hottest Tradie 2018 campaign.
