Five Reasons For Men to Try a Photo Shoot

We’ve all considered it. Laid awake late at night, partner asleep next to us, wondering what they’d think if they knew. What your friends would say once they found out. How your mum and dad would look at you differently. How you would muster up the courage to open your mouth and say the words “I want to do a photo shoot”.

Like it or not, there’s a million different excuses for us men to say we don’t, wont, and can’t do a photo shoot. But when you boil it down, it’s really about us needing to work up the courage. Luckily we are here to help with The Photo Studio Australia’s five reasons for men to try a photo shoot.

1. Photos for Social Media

Whether it’s Facebook, Instagram, or little old Tinder, nothing will keep people liking, DM sliding, or swiping more than some crisp new photos. Not every shoot needs to be a full-on experimental experience either. You don’t need to be zipped up in some designer suit by some guy you’ve never heard of to get great photos. Sometimes the simplest shoots are just you and in a comfy tee having some fun. And when it’s genuine, the swipers will be able to tell.

2. Show off a bit

Got a great rig you’ve been working hard on? What about a cracking smile you know works every time? Well now’s your chance to be a bit cocky and show it off. It’s perfectly okay to be comfortable with yourself and think you’re looking good. When all the cameras and attention are on you, it’ll be hard to be anything other than confident.

3. Easy family presents

If you’re always struggling to find a decent gift for Mother’s Day, your dad’s birthday, or for the extended family at Christmas, then look no further. Having a quick and easy gift to give out to your family is great reason for men to try a photo shoot. Just picture the look on your grandma’s face when she tears off the wrapping paper to see a framed picture of you smiling. You’ll claim your spot as the favourite grandchild for at least three years with no extra effort.

4. Get out of your comfort zone

Life’s far too short to avoid something because of how others might react. If you’re always looking to get out of your comfort zone and try something a bit different, then forget any negative energy that comes your way. At the end of the day if it’s something you really want to do, you’ll have a great time doing it.

5. Have fun

Ultimately, it’s just a bit fun, and that is probably the biggest reason for men to try a photo shoot. If you have a chance to spend a couple hours relaxing, having a bit of a laugh, and trying something different, then why not. If you get to leave after it’s all done with some memories, new photos, and a story to tell your mates, then why not.

Don’t want it alone? Try couples photography and bring your favourite person to your shoot.
