Mum of two Lucy Hbeiche came into The photo Studio Australia to encourage positivity and self-love in her daughter Evangeline.

Lucy says teaching kids the importance self-esteem at such a young age is critical in a world where people constantly compare themselves to others.

“I believe photography can increase self-esteem, and I often encourage my family and friends to get their professional photos done. I’m a mother of two girls, Evangeline is my eldest and I talk to her a lot about how to perceive beauty in things, places and people.” Says Lucy.

“Teaching her to like herself and who she is as person is really important these days. She is aware beauty is found in the little things – in all colour, shapes and sizes.”

While Lucy describes her own style as “dressy, feminine and modern,” she says Evangeline often dresses herself in bright and sparkly jewellery.

“Evangeline’s personal style consists of colour coordinated, vibrant, fun and expressive pieces. She dresses herself and she loves shiny and glittery accessories.”

When it came to styling for the shoot, Lucy made sure the outfits they chose allowed Evangeline to have fun and feel confident.

“The story behind the styling choices is the simplicity, such as the beautiful floral dress Evangeline felt very pretty in.”

“The other was more playful but also simple. She wanted to wear her pearl top because she felt she needed some kind of accessory.”

Taking influence from fashion blogs and designers, Lucy says while everyone is unique, it is what makes you comfortable that is important.

Lucy is enthusiastic for people look at Evangeline’s photos. She is hopeful people will see how children are able to express themselves through photography – even at a young age.
