Featured Portfolio | Elison & Rhyme Mondal

Elison was motivated to do a photoshoot with her 4-year-old son Rhyme when she became a single mum. She describes Rhyme as her ‘gorgeous, precious gift from God’ and ‘the best thing that has ever happened to (her)’. She details her favourite memory with Rhyme as ‘the first time I held him in my arms when he was born, and I became a mother’.

Elison used to be overweight, and her ex left her because she ‘wasn’t attractive looking anymore’. She explains that this event gave her the motivation to move on and become a role model for her son. She worked hard to lost weight and is now 75kg. Today she ‘feels and looks better’, but most importantly she has the confidence to talk about how ‘it doesn’t matter how big you are or what you look like, when you are a mum you always have that little special person who will love you unconditionally’. She says that Rhyme has seen her struggle and has stood by her as her support, her love and her strength. We love how the photos from their shoot really capture this special bond between them.

Elison describes her personal style as ‘natural but classy’. Her shoot had 2 key looks: casual and formal. For her casual look she chose natural makeup with soft curls to illuminate her natural beauty. She paired a long sleeve grey woollen dress with black heels and a chunk braid style necklace. We love how the blush coloured leather jacket she wore for this look really complimented her skin tone. For his casual look, Rhyme layered a denim jacket over a printed t-shirt and wore comfortable brown boots. For her formal look Elison opted for a vibrant red lip colour to match the red of Rhyme’s button-up shirt. She wore an elegant floor length black dress. This complimented Rhyme’s outfit, a grey textured suit with a red shirt.

Elison is planning on sending Rhymes photos from this shoot to modelling agencies, ‘to see where he can shine bright’. Her favourite photo is the one where she is holding Rhyme and light is streaming in from behind them and he is smiling brightly. We are inspired by Elison’s strength and love for her son and are honoured we could capture their beautiful relationship on camera.
