We get a lot of love at The Photo Studio but nobody receives more praise and thank you chocolates than Head Photographer Jude! Originally from the Northern Beaches, Jude is an avid surfer and carries the tranquility of the ocean deep in her character. After 5 years at the studio she has seen it all… The high’s and low’s. The weird and the wonderful. Here’s to an awesome woman and a talented photographer to boot!

What first drew you to photography?

I was captivated by how much a single image can tell a story. How a photograph of a person can reveal so much more about them than just what they look like.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Cheesy Hugh Grant movies.

Three words that other people would describe you as…

Well anyone who knows me knows I hate answering questions like this! So I took a vote and went with with caring, genuine, patient.

If you could give one piece of advice to your 16-year-old self, what would it be?

Stop worrying so much! Everything will be ok.

What do you think of the ‘is fashion anti feminism’ debate? (Are they polar opposites?)

No, not at all! Fashion can be incredibly empowering. Anything that gives people a way to express themselves can be a really great thing. Obviously there are many flaws in the way bodies, particularly women’s bodies, are portrayed in the fashion industry, but I feel that more people are taking responsibility for the images they are producing and being more critical of previously accepted ways of viewing women’s bodies, which is creating a really positive shift in the industry. It’s an exciting time to be involved in fashion.

What’s one moral that you live your life by?

Be kind. You can’t really ever know what someone else is going through.

Would you rather be stranded on an island alone or with someone you hate?

Absolutely by myself! I enjoy my own company and can think of nothing worse than being trapped with negative energy.
